Challenge:
AMD, the second-largest semiconductor manufacturer on the world, and their distributor – the San Antonio-based Alamo Tees – came to eBlox six weeks before their key sponsored event – the 2004 Tour de France – seeking a comprehensive company store with separate product mixes and payment methods for internal employees and the general public. The store required precise matching of corporate branding and custom functionality for special sourcing requests. The entire site, with custom design, custom functionality and product entry had to be delivered in less than six weeks, and must serve thousands of internal and external users.

Solution:
eBlox consulted extensively with AMD’s Branding team and Alamo Tees to produce a design that met stringent branding requirements. eBlox engaged AMD’s marketing and purchasing teams to determine proper business processes for budgeting and purchasing for both internal and public customers. Complex requirements for departmental purchase orders were handled by the ProStore4’s myStore management system. Eblox’ custom development team rapidly executed code customizations to deliver requested features.

Outcome:
The site was completed and launched on schedule and on budget, offering AMD-sponsored Tour de France merchandise in time for Lance Armstrong’s record-setting sixth consecutive tour victory. The Brand Store is a central clearinghouse for internal marketing fulfillment and wildly successful with AMD’s resellers and partners, many of whom are devoted fans of AMD chips and technology.

Update:
Rollout to the AMD’s Global marketplace is currently under development and scheduled for Q1 2005.
